Ardtalla Estate Holiday Cottages can be found on the south east corner of the beautiful island of Islay, with views towards the Mull of Kintyre.
The two detached cottages have their own unique character and are set in peaceful and scenic locations on the fifteen thousand acre Ardtalla Estate, with over one thousand red and fallow deer at your doorstep, eight miles of deserted coast, filled with sand, seals and sea-birds, Scotland’s finest Celtic Cross dating from 800 A.D. and the largest of only three original Oak forests remaining in Scotland.
There are excellent hill and coastal walks and opportunities for sea and loch fishing. In Port Ellen (eight miles) and Bowmore (eighteen miles) there are shopping facilities, pubs, restaurants and a post office. The Mactaggart Community Cybercafé in Port Ellen, serves food and will handle your e-mail.
Activities in the area include fishing, diving, golf, bowls, tennis, cycling and pony trekking while, for wet weather, the Mactaggart Leisure Centre in Bowmore has an indoor swimming pool. The area also boasts three world famous single malt distilleries at Laphroaig, Lagavulin and Ardbeg. Add to this and abundance of wildlife and a wide range of birds and the prospect of holidaying at Ardtalla Estate begins to become more inviting by the minute.
